QA/QC Manager

Salt Contractors is seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to lead and manage welding operations both in the fabrication facility and on construction sites.

Location: Trichardt / Secunda

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage all Project & Maintenance QC activities and QC Personnel.

    Q.C related problem-solving including interpreting SOP

    QC training and guidance for Project & Maintenance QC staff.

    Communicate with Project Management.

    Capture and monitor welding statistics related to the company.

    Investigate and report on welding defects.

    Be familiar with measuring equipment and proficient in their use.

    Ensure condition and calibration status of measuring equipment.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Grade 12 or Equivalent.
  • Minimum Level 2 Welding Inspector.
  • NDE courses (wish)
  • ASME codes (wish)
  • IPE
  • Recognized management training (wish)
  • Managerial course (wish)

Experience:

 

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience
  • Understand all relevant Codes & Specifications
  • Read and Understand Drawings
  • Knowledge of Measuring Equipment
  • Knowledge of Petrochemical & Mining Plants
  • Staff / Department Management
  • NDE Procedures
  • Testing, Qualifying & Maintenance of Welders Qualifications

 

Foreman

Salt Contractors is seeking an experienced Foreman to lead artisan teams of machinists and CNC- Machine operators in an machine workshop facility.

Location: Secunda
Closing Date: 15/12/2025 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure high standards of safety and quality are adhered to.
  • Assist the Construction Manager in running the site in a safe manner and within budget and on time.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised and lead a team.
  • Must report all deviations from the scope of work timeously in writing to the construction manager.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • A recognized trade with N3 or equivalent.

    Must have a broad knowledge of his field to assist artisans when needed

Experience:

 

 

  • The appointed candidate must have at least 5 years’ work experience in the trade of his specialisation.
  • Must be able to read and understand machining drawings fluently.
  • Must be quality conscious and must have a good understanding of QCP’s and quality procedures.
  • Clear understanding of the “Ashlock Spares” works and how it impacts the rest of the process regarding Gasifier Maintenance, especially the scope of Salt Contractors.
